RACE RESULTS UPDATE

Race results will be delayed as a result of technical difficulties but we are reconstructing the record to establish accurate and complete results.  We also will be posting pictures in the coming days.  We apologize for the delay.  Steps are already being taken to contract out the timing next year so that we do not have this problem again and more of us can enjoy running in the race.

We are happy to report that more people crossed the finish line this year than last.  We had excellent weather and a great race.  For those of you that witnessed the kids' race, you know that the future of our sport looks very promising.  The winning schools for that race are St. Helen Catholic School, Beachland Elementary and Citrus Elementary. 

Also, some personal items were found left at the race site and are in our possession.  If you are missing something and think you may have lost it at South Beach Park, please contact us at surnrunners10k@bellsouth.net. 

Thank you again to all of you that made our race so much of a success and we will look forward to seeing you again next year for the 31st running of our race.

10K RACE

WHEN: Sunday February 24, 2008 at 8:00 a.m.
LOCATION: South Beach Park, Vero Beach, Florida
COURSE: TAC certified 10K (10,000 meters—6.2 miles) along quiet city streets and oceanfront roads. Fast, flat, out and back, scenic route with water stations and ocean views.
ENTRY FEE: $20.00 received prior to race day.  $25.00 on race day.
RACER PREMIUMS: Long sleeve Mizuno dri-fit shirts, goodie bags, door prizes and post race food and festivities.  Special premiums to be given to participants to help celebrate the 30th anniversary of this race (while supplies last).
AWARDS:  Awards three deep in normal age groups.

RELAY RACE 
 

Two person teams each run approximately 5K.  Must have transportation to exchange area.  Each participant receives race shirt and goodie bag.
RELAY ENTRY FEE: $30.00 per team prior to race day, $35.00 per team on race day. 
AWARDS: Top three in Male, Female and Co-Ed divisions.

KIDS RACE
 

WHEN: Sunday February 24, 2008 at 7:30 a.m.
WHERE: South Beach Park, Vero Beach, Florida
COURSE:  1 mile out and back along a quiet city road. Marshals will be present on the course.
ENTRY FEE:  This race is FREE of charge.
PREMIUMS:  All participants will receive t-shirts and all finishers will receive an award.
Parent and/or legal guardian must be present during entire race event. Cash prizes to be awarded to the schools with the highest number of participants.

KIDS RACE SHIRT DESIGN CONTEST:  Click HERE for more information on the competition to design the shirt for the race.  The winner may receive a $100.00 award for their school art department.

10K TRAINING RUNS
Training runs for the 10K will be taking place every Wednesday evening at 5:30 p.m. at the Runner’s Depot. For more information, E-mail sunrunners10k@bellsouth.net. The Runner's Depot is at 436 21st Street in the Miracle Mile Plaza next to Deep Six Dive Shop.
  
GENERAL INFORMATION
Entry fees cannot be refunded.  Please, for safety reasons, no strollers, dogs, headsets or rollers skates.  Be alert to possible road and traffic hazards along the course.  The course will not be closed to road and traffic hazards along the course but is run through areas of light traffic. For more information, please contact Barry Segal at (772) 567-5552 or sunrunners10k@bellsouth.net.

PRE RACE PACKET PICK-UP
Race packets may be picked up the Friday and Saturday prior to the race at the Runner’s Depot located at  436 21st Street (569-7364) in the Miracle Mile Plaza next to Deep Six Dive Shop. You may also register for the race there.

DIRECTIONS
I-95 south/north to Vero Beach (Exit 147).  East on Route 60 approximately 8 miles to Indian River Boulevard.  Make a right on to Indian River Boulevard and then a left on to the 17th Street bridge.  Go over the bridge and then straight into South Beach Park.
